Dr. Frank S. Ditto
Following Dr. Ryan's resignation as president in 1914, those in authority called Rev. Frank S. Ditto, formerly of Washburn College in Iowa, to take up the work and to become the second President of Baxter Seminary. He led Baxter Seminary from 1914 to 1916. He enjoyed the work, the area, and was kindly disposed toward the people. In taking up the work he did so at great personal sacrifice. Brother Ditto was thoroughly equipped as an educator, had considerable practical experience in school work, and had obtained two degrees from DePauw University in Greencastle, Indiana. He also held a teachers professional certificate from the state of Tennessee. He had been president of a strong college in India for some time and was president of the Methodist school at Red Boiling Springs at the time it was closed down and Baxter Seminary built in its stead. The two years prior to coming to Baxter, he was the pastor of the M. E. Church at Perry, KS. He resigned after two years of holding the office of the President, in the spring of 1916, and returned to the pastorate. "Frank S.
